CADTP Continuing Education Requirements
How many CEU hours do I need to renew my certification?
Substance Use Disorder Certified Counselors (SUDCC) are required to complete 40 hours of continuing education every 2 years. Registered counselors (SUDRC) must complete 6 hours of continuing education every year.
Are there mandatory topics I must cover?
Yes. SUDCC renewals must include at least 3 hours of ethics and 3 hours of confidentiality. If you hold a Clinical Supervisor (SUDCC-CS) credential, you must also complete an additional 6 hours of clinical supervision training.
How many online courses can I take at once?
You can complete all your renewal hours online, but CADTP enforces a maximum limit of 10 hours of CEUs earned per day.

This covers the practical and ethical integration of digital psychoeducation platforms, like the cooccurring.ai AI Chat Explorer (ACE), into a chronic-care biopsychosocial framework.
